If you have already inquired in the past, you do *not* have send one to the new address. The waitlist / bond / rental inquiries were simply overwhelming our club email address, so we needed to separate them out.

News from the Board of Directors

It may be hard to imagine at this point, but the swim season officially begins in 100 days on Saturday, May 25. We are very excited for the upcoming swim season and excited to share the following information with Beechwood’s members.

The Board of Directors would like to welcome our newest Board Members: Laurie Bauer, Eric Mooney, and John Piccirillo. We are looking forward to working with Laurie, Eric, and John to ensure that Beechwood Swim Club continues to be a fun, safe, and family friendly experience for its members for years to come.

Last year saw some significant changes for members with the change to the Member Splash software system. While there was a learning curve with the system as we progressed through the season, the overall benefits of the new system were noticed by all. We will continue to use Member Splash as our membership software for the 2024 season. The link to Beechwood’s Member Splash site is https://beechwoodswimclub.membersplash.com

Over the past several years, we have made significant investments to maintain the pool, deck, and facilities. For 2024, the Board has committed to the following improvements to the Swim Club.

  • First, additional lounge chairs will be purchased for the pool deck. Demand was high last season for lounge chairs on weekends, so additional chairs should help to lessen the demand as pool attendance continues to increase.
  • Second, a pickleball court will be installed in the play area next to the basketball courts. We are excited to be able to bring pickleball to the club for our members. There will be additional information shared on the pickleball courts as we get closer to the pool season.

2024 Membership Dues

Due to increasing costs in staffing, chemicals, and other items necessary to keep the pool operational, the Board voted to increase membership dues for the first time since 2018. While membership dues have increased, the Board worked to keep annual membership dues affordable and among the lowest in the area while also balancing the costs to operate the club successfully and plan for future renovations. The 2024 dues are as follows:

  • Family - $524.70 ($495 dues + $29.70 KY sales tax)

    • Option 1: Owner, spouse & dependent children who are 25 years old or younger and residing in the home.
    • Option 2: Owner & two (2) permanent guest passes.
    • <li><p><b>Senior ‐ $419.76</b> ($396 dues + $23.76 KY sales tax)</p>

        <li>At least one (1) member must be sixty-five (65) or older.</li>
    </ul>

<li><p><b>Single ‐ $367.29</b> ($346.50 dues + $20.79 KY sales tax)</p></li>
<li><p><b>Babysitter ‐ $106</b> ($100 + $6 KY sales tax)</p>
    <ul>
        <li>Up to two (2) designated babysitters can be listed on the account for a charge of $100.00 each plus 6% sales tax. The babysitter pass can only be used when one (1) or more of the dependent children are present and <i><u>neither parent is present</u></i>.</li>

Payment Methods

We will continue to not accept checks via mail and will be returned to the sender. However, in recognizing that some of our members will still desire to pay by check rather than online, we are providing the opportunity to pay with checks on four dates below. A board member will be present at the designated locations on the dates below for members wishing to pay by check. Otherwise, please utilize the online payment function in Member Splash.

  • March 12th from 5:00 – 6:00pm at the Ft Mitchell City Building.
  • March 15th from 5:00 – 6:00pm at the Ft Mitchell City Building.
  • April 12th from 5:00 – 6:30pm at Beechwood Swim Club.
  • April 15th from 5:00 – 6:30pm at Beechwood Swim Club.

Payment Deadlines

The deadlines for payment of 2024 dues are as follows:

  • March 15th, 2024

    • Members who pay on or before this date will receive five (5) free guest passes added to their account.

  • April 15th, 2024

    • Members must pay on or before this date to avoid being a assessed a late fee.
  • For payments after April 15th, 2024, there will be a late fee assessed of $150.00. For accounts subject to a late fee, the account will not be active until the late fee has been paid.

Inactive Membership Option

Due to ongoing spike in membership interest, it is important that we know how many members plan to be inactive in the 2024 season.

  • Members who wish to be inactive must notify the board in writing by May 15th, 2024. The inactive fee will be $341 ($322 + 6% sales tax).
  • The inactive fee must be paid by June 15th, 2024, to keep the account in good standing.
  • Failure to notify the board of an intent to be inactive will subject you to the full membership dues for the season.
  • Failure to pay the inactive fee by June 15th, 2024, will result in the club purchasing your bond from you at the original bond value.

New Members – Bond Transfers

For our new members who have purchased bonds since last season, your bond must be formally transferred before your account will be active. If you need to transfer bonds, Stephanie Bogenschutz will be available to meet you at the pool on the following days:

  • April 12th from 5:00 – 6:30pm at Beechwood Swim Club.
  • April 15th from 5:00 – 6:30pm at Beechwood Swim Club.
  • May 15th from 5:00 – 6:30pm at Beechwood Swim Club.

Member Communication Throughout the Season As we head into the 2024 season, we are continuing our commitment to provide the most widespread information to our members as possible, so that everyone feels up to speed on what is happening. Issues in the past with emails have led us to try to post updates across multiple platforms including email, our pool website, and our pool Facebook page. Major items, such as our bylaws and this year's member letter, will always be posted to our website. Please regularly check your email, our website, and our Facebook page so that you can stay informed of all events happening at the pool.

Important Dates/Events at Beechwood Swim Club
  • Family Day and Annual Bondholders Meeting – July 21st.

  • Beechwood is hosting the 2024 Northern Kentucky Swim Championship Meet – July 15th & 16th.

    • Pool will be closing at 6pm on July 14th and will remain closed on July 15th & 16th.
    • During the days the pool is closed for the swim meet, members will be allowed to go to other NKSL pools (excluding Florence Aquatic Center).
    • Additional information will be shared as we get closer to the pool season.
  • Two Movie Nights – Dates TBD.
  • Ladies Nights – Dates TBD.

August Lifeguarding Help Needed

Due to our guards and managers going back to school in mid-August last year, the pool could not open until 4pm Monday through Friday for the last two weeks of the swim season. This was an extremely unfortunate situation and not a decision that the Board took lightly.

To keep the pool open once school starts back in August this year, we are asking adult members to consider getting their Lifeguard certification. Members will need to commit to 2 shifts (12-4) per week for 2 weeks. We would need 2 people per day (Monday – Friday) starting mid-August. We are looking for a maximum of 10 volunteers. Lifeguarding certification class information will be sent out separately to those interested.

Please know that there are additional trainings on our emergency protocols at Beechwood Swim Club. Volunteers must attend those trainings as well. The pool will reimburse the volunteers for their certification and compensate you for your time.
